Number of contacts
This indicates the number of contacts the connector has.
Locking Type
The locking system describes how the pin and socket elements are joined.
  • RD30The connectors are screwed together. RD means round thread.
Degree of protection
The degrees of protection according to IEC60529 apply to various articles and provide information on protection against the intrusion of water and solids such as dust.
  • IP65Fully protects against touch and against the intrusion of dust. Protects against sprayed water (jet) from any angle.
Version
The choice of version allows the definition of certain technical specifications – for example the type of cable outlet or the size.
Connector Type
Connectors are differentiated by installation type: those that are mounted in a device housing (panel mount) and those that are attached to cables.
  • Cable mountingConnectors with cable already moulded or for self-assembly.
  • Housing assemblyConnectors that can be mounted to device housings. These can be fixed by means of a locking nut or be screwed in (requires a threaded hole).
Shielded Option
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) means that a connector is shielded or shieldable. This is required when it is necessary to protect the signals or data conducted by the connector, as well as to protect external devices, from disturbance due to electromagnetic effects.
Product segment
binder areas of application or type of connector.
  • PowerPower connectors for high currents and voltages.
Termination
The termination type determines how cables, single wires or PCBs can be joined with the connector.
  • screw clampThe wires in a cable are pressed in the contact element radially by means of a screw, establishing the electrical contact.
  • solderThe contact and the individual wires of a cable are connected using solder.

RD30 power connectors of the 694 series with screw clamp and solder termination are available as straight and angled cable connectors and 44.45 x 44.5 mm square flange versions. The connectors are available with 5 (4+PE), 13 (12+PE) and 24 contacts with a rated current of 3 A (125 V), 6 A (250 V) and 20 A (400 V), depending on the number of contacts. They conform to IP65 with an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +100 °C. Connection cross-sections from AWG 14 to AWG 24 are possible. Many connectors are VDE and SEV approved.
